About EFT

What is EFT

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often known as tapping, is a structured, evidence-informed approach that combines elements of cognitive and somatic therapies. It involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing attention on a particular thought, emotion or physical sensation.
EFT is based on the understanding that emotional stress can become stored in the body and the nervous system. By tapping on these points while acknowledging what is present, EFT helps to calm the nervous system and reduce the emotional intensity around difficult experiences. Many people describe it as grounding, soothing and surprisingly simple.
In sessions, EFT is always guided at a pace that feels safe and respectful. We focus on what you are experiencing in the moment - whether that's stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm - without needing to relive or analyse the past in detail. Tapping can help create a sense of space, allowing emotions to soften and new perspectives to emerge.

EFT has been used in clinical, therapeutic and wellbeing settings to support:
-
anxiety and stress
-
emotional overwhelm
-
negative self-beliefs
-
difficulty regulating emotions
-
feeling stuck or disconnected

EFT works well on it's own and also alongside art therapy and life coaching. It is particularly helpful when words feel hard to find or when emotions feel intense.
